Market Basics
Four short classes for complete beginners: how the stock market works, how the forex market works, how the two compare, and support and resistance.
You have taken your First Steps; now let’s look at the two biggest markets up close. Four short classes, plain words, a picture for every idea, and no maths beyond simple sums.
Each class works the same way:
- Read the class and look at each diagram.
- Tick I’ve read the class.
- Check yourself with the short quiz. You need 70% to pass, you can retake it as often as you like, and your best score counts.
Each class lists its new words at the top (never more than three), and you can tap any dotted word to see what it means. Boxes marked Going deeper are extra detail: read them if you are curious, skip them if you are not.
When you finish all four classes, continue with Forex Essentials and Risk and Money Management (both free), then Outer Box Foundations, which teaches a way of reading the charts of any of these markets.
This course explains how markets work. It is not trading advice, and nothing in it tells you to buy or sell anything. Trading involves risk, including the loss of more than you deposit on some leveraged products.
This course is free to read. Sign in to tick off each class, take the quizzes and earn the certificate.
